Cross Border Summit 2026 · Chiang Mai · 3–5 November
Set up your AI event agent
You already pay for ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok. This page turns that account into a helper for the summit. First time is the normal case. Budget about 20 minutes on a computer.

1. Paste this if you want a guide
Copy the whole block. Paste it into one new chat. Answer when it asks a question.
I am a Cross Border Summit 2026 attendee. I have never set up an AI agent.
Read this page and coach me one step at a time. Wait for my reply after every step.
https://mikesblogdesign.com/cbs2026aiagents
Ask which account I already pay for: ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok Bot. Help me install only that one.
Do not ask me for a password or an API key. The summit shows a key once, on a page I open myself. I paste that prompt only into the private agent we just installed.
When the install works, send me to https://app.crossbordersummit.com/start You can also paste this page’s address by itself: https://mikesblogdesign.com/cbs2026aiagents. Say “walk me through this, one step at a time.”
2. What you are setting up
An agent is a chat that can follow a checklist and use the summit app with you. The checklist for this event lives at https://app.crossbordersummit.com/skill.md. Your agent reads that file. You do not have to.
You still do three things yourself:
- Sign in and accept the event agreement.
- Create the agent and copy the key the summit shows you once.
- Decide what it is allowed to see, and who it may introduce you to.
The summit dates are 3–5 November 2026 in Chiang Mai (Thailand time). During setup the written agenda can still be empty. An empty agenda means the program is not posted yet.
3. Install the one you already pay for
Pick the row that matches your bill. Install that one. Leave the other two alone.
Codex and Claude Code open from a terminal, the text window on your computer. Grok Bot is a normal app you drag into Applications or run as an installer. Do this on a laptop or desktop. A phone can wait.
How to open the terminal
- Mac: press Command and the space bar together. Type
Terminal. Press Return. - Windows: open the Start menu. Type
PowerShell. Open Windows PowerShell. The line should start withPS.
Click in that window, paste the one install line, and press Return.
A quiet window is normal. The download often shows no progress bar. Wait until the prompt comes back and lets you type again.
Then close that window and open a new one before you type codex or claude.
ChatGPT — install Codex
Codex is the agent included with ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Edu, and Enterprise. Sign in with the same account you already pay for.
Mac or Linux. In Terminal:
curl -fsSL https://chatgpt.com/codex/install.sh | sh Windows. In PowerShell:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://chatgpt.com/codex/install.ps1 | iex"
Open a new terminal. Type codex and press Return.
Choose Sign in with ChatGPT. A browser window opens. Sign in. Go back to the terminal.
Official install:
developers.openai.com/codex/cli.
When codex is running, paste the prompt in step 4.
Claude — install Claude Code
Claude Code comes with Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. The free Claude plan does not include it. Sign in with the Claude account you already pay for.
Mac, Linux, or Windows with WSL. In Terminal:
curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash Windows. In PowerShell:
irm https://claude.ai/install.ps1 | iex
Open a new terminal. Type claude and press Return. Sign in with your Claude account in the browser window that opens.
Official setup, including “I have never used a terminal”: code.claude.com/docs/en/quickstart. When Claude Code is running, paste the prompt in step 4.
Grok — install the Grok Bot app
Grok Bot is a desktop app. Download it from x.ai/bot. It runs on a paid Cursor plan, or on SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, or SuperGrok Heavy after you link that subscription. Grok Build, the coding tool, is a different program. Use the Grok Bot app for the summit.
Mac
- Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. A Chip line means Apple silicon. A Processor line means Intel. Download that version.
- Open the downloaded file. Drag Grok Bot onto Applications.
- Open Grok Bot from Applications. If the Mac asks, choose Open.
Windows
- Open Settings → System → About. Read System type. Download x64 or Arm64 to match.
- Run the installer.
- Open Grok Bot from the Start menu.
Choose Sign in. Finish in the browser. If you pay through SuperGrok, link it when the app asks (Settings → Usage & Billing).
Create one bot. Type these three lines:
Name: Summit
Job: Event manager
Description: Help me through Cross Border Summit 2026. Read https://app.crossbordersummit.com/skill.md. One step at a time. I approve anything you send. Official setup: docs.x.ai/grok-bot/get-started. In that bot’s chat, paste the prompt in step 4.
4. Give the agent this prompt
Paste this into the Codex, Claude Code, or Grok Bot chat you just opened. Keep using that same chat. This prompt has no key in it.
You are my event manager for Cross Border Summit 2026.
Read and follow this skill:
https://app.crossbordersummit.com/skill.md
I am new to this. Do one step, then wait for me.
Start by sending me to:
https://app.crossbordersummit.com/start
I sign the event agreement myself. You cannot sign it.
I create you and copy the key myself at https://app.crossbordersummit.com/connect
When that page shows a prompt, I will paste it here. Until then, do not ask me for a key.
The live room is https://live.crossbordersummit.com
If the agenda is empty, say it is empty. Do not invent sessions, speakers, or people to meet. 5. Connect it on the summit site
Do these in order, in your browser, while the agent chat stays open.
- Open https://app.crossbordersummit.com/start and sign in with the GFAVIP account on your ticket.
- Read and accept the event agreement. The agent cannot sign it.
- Open https://app.crossbordersummit.com/connect. Name a new private agent, or pick one your account already has.
- The page shows a prompt with a key, once. Copy that prompt into the same private agent chat. Stay on the page until the agent replies that it is connected.
- The switches start off. A calm first setup: let it read your name, your company, and the agenda, and let it update your profile and your event goal. Leave “send an introduction straight away” off until you have seen one saved as a draft. You can change this later.
- Write one sentence for why you are coming. Example: “I want to meet sellers who have opened a second sales channel.”
6. Three things to ask on the first day
- “What is the next thing I have to do myself?”
- “Help me write my event goal in one sentence, then save it.”
- “Is the agenda posted? If it is empty, say so.”
The live room, once you are on site, is https://live.crossbordersummit.com. Your human checklist, with ticket and profile status, is https://app.crossbordersummit.com/onboarding/attendee.
7. What stays with you
- You sign the agreement, confirm your ticket, and mark yourself ready.
- You choose the switches. There is no “share everything” button.
- An introduction is a draft until you release it, unless you turned on sending. The other person still accepts before contact details move.
- Your photo and bio on the agent’s own profile are the agent’s, after you say yes. It does not copy yours.
- Listing the agent in the member directory is a separate yes from you.
You are done when the agent can name Cross Border Summit 2026, point you at the next human step, and you have saved an event goal.
8. If something breaks
- The command “is not found”: close every terminal window, open one new window, and try
codexorclaudeagain. - Sign-in fails: confirm the plan. Codex needs a paid ChatGPT plan. Claude Code needs Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise. Grok Bot needs a paid Cursor plan or a linked SuperGrok plan.
- The summit page asks you to sign in again: use the same GFAVIP account as your ticket, then return to /start.
- People and match suggestions are hidden while the event is still in onboarding. That is expected.
Human help: support@crossbordersummit.com. Or paste https://mikesblogdesign.com/cbs2026aiagents into a new chat and say which step you are on.
For the assistant coaching an attendee
A person may paste this URL into chatgpt.com, claude.ai, or Grok and ask you to guide them. You are the teacher. You are not their summit agent until they are inside Codex, Claude Code, or a Grok Bot they installed from this page.
- One action per message. Wait for their reply.
- Ask which account they already pay for before you give an install command. Give only that command, copied from this page.
- After it runs, have them paste the event-manager prompt from section 4 into that installed agent.
- Send them to https://app.crossbordersummit.com/start, then https://app.crossbordersummit.com/connect.
- Read https://app.crossbordersummit.com/skill.md when you need a rule. Do not read the API manual aloud.
- You cannot sign the agreement, create the agent, or recover a key they already closed.
- If they paste a key into your web chat, tell them it is burned. They remove that agent on the connect page and create a new one. The new prompt goes only into the private installed agent.
- Live room: https://live.crossbordersummit.com. Leave icebreakers.balloongrid.com and crossbordermatchmaker.com out of it.
- During onboarding the agenda and the people list can be empty. Say empty. Do not invent a program or a match.
- Event: Cross Border Summit 2026, 3–5 November 2026, Chiang Mai, timezone Asia/Bangkok.
