GrokBot for Facebook Ads

Twelve named jobs that look like a media buyer. Steal the roster. Do not spawn all twelve on day one, and do not let a bot pause spend until you’ve watched it be right.

Here are the 12 I’m already running.” ~1.7k bookmarks / ~70k views at capture. Lead magnet: comment “meta” for the setup. We don’t have his prompt pack. This page is the roster + how we’d wire it, not a paste of a DM.

Grok Bot for Meta: Ad Library Scout, Hook Miner, Account Auditor, Morning Digest, plus 8 other bots

Replies worth keeping: @dreamandbuildit — “would eat weekly usage in about a day.” @jeffecom — Grok Bot has no Meta Ads MCP (Claude / GPT do). Treat Ads Manager as browser + login on the shared VM, or a Composio hop, not a first-party connector.

One-sentence TL;DR

Four layers — research the library, audit the account, digest the numbers, then (maybe) pause and scale — as named bots under a Chief, read-only until the digest is boring, Kill Switch behind Require Approval, one channel per ad account not twelve bots per SKU.

The 12 (his names, his jobs)

# Bot Job Layer
1 Ad Library Scout Sweeps every competitor’s active ads daily. What launched, what got killed, how long each survived. Research
2 Hook Miner Transcribes the first 3 seconds of every competitor video ad. Clusters hook archetypes. Research
3 Angle Gap Finder Maps every angle the category is running. Shows the ones nobody has touched. Research
4 Account Auditor Walks structure: overlap, fragmentation, stranded budget, ad sets that never left learning. Audit
5 Pixel Watchdog Clicks your live ads. Verifies events fire and UTM tokens resolve. Audit
6 Fatigue Sentry Frequency + CTR decay per creative. Flags rollover before it happens. Audit
7 Leak Detector Ad sets spending above target CPA with no path back, plus what it’s cost so far. Audit
8 Morning Digest Spend, CPA, CTR, thumbstop, every delta. Inbox before the laptop opens. Monitor
9 Anomaly Alarm Silent until something breaks: spend spike, delivery drop, CPA doubling. Monitor
10 Test Scoreboard Live standings on every creative test, decision rule, days until you can trust it. Monitor
11 Kill Switch Pauses any creative that breaches the threshold. Tells you what it killed and why. Write
12 Scale Stepper Steps budget on winners at a cadence that doesn’t blow up delivery. Write

His pitch: together they replace a dedicated media buyer. Our pitch: 1–10 are a research + watchdog desk. 11–12 are spend. Different approval boundary.

How access actually works

There is no official Meta Ads plugin on Grok Bot as of this tweet’s replies. Practical paths:

  1. Browser on the shared VM. Sign into Ads Manager + Ad Library once. Every bot can use that session (field manual: screens ≠ security). Trust accordingly.
  2. Exports. CSV / Ads Manager scheduled email into /workspace. Digest reads files, not a live click every 15 minutes.
  3. Composio / custom MCP if you must have API — /grokbotorg. One credential hop. Prefer read scopes.

Ad Library Scout does not need your ad account. It needs the public library. Start there. Pixel Watchdog and Kill Switch need the account.

Tutorial: stand this up without lighting the week

Same ladder as the field manual. Do not cron twelve bots. Do not Always Allow pause.

Day 1 — Chief + one research bot

  1. Chief exists. Sidebar folder later, not tonight.
  2. Create Ad Library Scout. Description: competitors, geos, “report only, never log into Ads Manager.”
  3. Run it by hand once: open Ad Library, three competitor Pages, spreadsheet of active ads. Correct it. Freeze as a skill (six fields, including approval = none because read-only).
  4. Schedule daily, not hourly. Batch. Quota furnace.

Day 2–3 — digest, still read-only

  1. Morning Digest as a second bot or a routine on Scout if the account is small. Inputs: yesterday’s export in /workspace, not a 5-minute Ads Manager poll (Riley’s MTS cadence will eat a Meta desk in a day).
  2. Anomaly Alarm is a rule on that digest (“CPA doubled vs 7-day”), not a third always-on loop.

Day 4 — audit

Account Auditor by hand against Ads Manager. Overlap, learning-limited sets, stranded budget. One report. Don’t automate until the report matches what you’d have written.

Day 5+ — write actions, fenced

Kill Switch and Scale Stepper are separate bots from the ones that produce the signal (hedge-fund rule: producer ≠ reviewer). Description: pause / budget-step only after Chief (or you) approves. Auto-review: Require Approval on anything that changes delivery. Gym hack is what write access looks like with no fence — here the “gym class” is your ad spend.

Channel model (/grokbotorg): one Ads folder, one channel per ad account (Para Living vs ClearCafe), not one bot per campaign. Plugins are shared; the description names the account.

How this maps here

Layer Our notes
Research 1–3 Product brain already wants competitor creatives per SKU. Scout/Hook/Angle are that job pointed at Meta’s library.
Audit 4–7 Same spirit as seoloop Access → Judgment. Changelog of pauses/scales or you can’t reverse.
Monitor 8–10 Morning Digest = one routine. Anomaly = threshold, not a poll. Test Scoreboard needs a written decision rule or it’s vibes.
Write 11–12 Require Approval. Don’t Always Allow. Human still owns spend.
12 always-on bots 50-bot cap + weekly meter. Fold 9–10 into Digest. Hide don’t delete (Riley).

What we keep vs skip

  • Keep: named jobs, library-first research, read-only digest, producer ≠ killer, one channel per ad account.
  • Verify: whether Ads Manager even stays logged in on the VM; whether UTMs are worth a Pixel Watchdog click-bot (easy to look like fraud traffic — be careful).
  • Skip: commenting “meta” as if that’s a tutorial; cloning all 12 tonight; 5-minute CPA polls; auto-pause on first mismatch; treating this as a native Meta integration.
