Second chapter after the line brainstorm: one focused daily-face SKU direction

Public product-direction page. This is about formula philosophy, feel, packaging concepts, and whether the SKU makes sense for the brand. We do not publish pricing, internal targets, competitive intel, or manufacturing partner details here.

What’s new since the brainstorm

On EB Men's Care (part 1) we shared the broader gift line idea — beard, hair, skincare, sets, and Thailand origin. This update zooms into one daily product: a men’s face moisturizer designed to work under a beard, absorb cleanly, and feel premium enough for gifting and Amazon/TikTok storytelling.

We’ve tightened a supplier-ready product brief internally (formulation risk, U.S. compliance mindset, men’s skin needs). What follows is the customer-facing and creative summary of that work — the parts we’re happy to show while we keep commercial negotiations private.

Concept packaging (new renders)

Fresh mockups for a pump / airless-style daily moisturizer — matte black or deep burgundy, knight shield and sword marks, masculine premium feel. Not final tooling; direction checks.

Matte black Excalibur Brothers face moisturizer bottle with silver sword mark
Sword mark · matte black — tall pump silhouette, minimalist, gift-box ready.
Black face moisturizer bottle with red shield logo and miniature sword prop
Shield + brand lockup — red knight shield, gothic wordmark, hero still life.
Lifestyle bathroom scene with Excalibur Brothers face care bottles and cream application
In-use lifestyle — morning routine content for TikTok / Amazon A+. Cream texture visible on skin.

What the product should feel like

Men’s daily face care fails when it greases the beard or sits like a film. Targets we’re designing around:

  • Absorbs fully within about five minutes — no greasy residue
  • Matte-to-satin finish — looks intentional, not shiny
  • Works under a beard — spreads cleanly along the hairline and jaw without clumping
  • One hero SKU at launch — no scent/variant maze on day one; packaging development separate from formula

Formula discipline (non-comedogenic first)

Early-stage brands often say “nice face cream.” We’re being stricter about what doesn’t go on a man’s face — especially common clogging lipids.

Keep off the face (examples)

Explicitly avoiding classic comedogenic heavy-hitters such as coconut oil, cocoa butter, isopropyl myristate, beeswax, and tallow in this face emulsion. Full lipid phase should be evaluated for comedogenicity — not just marketing “non-comedogenic” claims.

Different SKU than beard balm

Beeswax can still tell a great story for beard balm/wax. For this face moisturizer, banning beeswax is intentional. Face line hero story leans niacinamide + multi-weight HA + peptides + Thai botanical extracts instead.

Proven actives stack

Direction: niacinamide in a meaningful range (around mid-single-digit percent), multi-weight hyaluronic acid, and a cost-effective, well-documented peptide approach — not vague “contains peptides” marketing fluff. Prefer documented peptide types over locked proprietary mystery blends where we can.

Scent stance

Prefer fragrance-free. If a very light, clean masculine scent is used later, keep it minimal with full allergen transparency. We’re not launching a cologne in a pump.

Quality bar (high level)

Face emulsions are more complex than anhydrous beard balms — emulsion tech, preservation, and stability matter. Internally we’re treating testing and written specs (including pH / texture bands) as non-negotiable before any production commitment. Details of who runs which test stay in the private brief; publicly: we’re not shipping untested face cream.

  • U.S.-minded compliance and labeling discipline
  • Challenge / stability thinking before scaling a lot
  • Samples and iteration before locking tooling and full runs

Why this SKU (strategic note)

Beard balm can be a simpler first manufacturing path. Daily face moisturizer is higher bar — and higher daily-use potential for self-care guys plus gift sets later. We’re advancing the face brief because the packaging and performance story is clear; we’ll sequence production responsibly based on time and cash, not hype.

Brand fit: same Excalibur knight world as knives and gear — premium masculine gifts, not drugstore commodity cream.
