Working With Mike
Here are my core principles and expectations for working together effectively:
Speaking Opportunities
Interested in being a speaker at one of our online or offline events? We're always looking for industry experts to share their knowledge and experiences.
Learn About Speaking Opportunities →Team First Mindset
You will be measured by our team's outcomes. Global Team > your team > you.
Autonomy with Responsibility
I don't do micromanaging - if you need help, please ask - I'm happy to weigh in. If you don't speak up, I will assume you are clear on goals and expectations.
Understanding the Why
Know the why. Achieving a great outcome only gets you 50% credit. If you can't explain the why, we can't repeat the win, which turns it into a future loss.
Open Communication
Speak your mind, especially when you do hold a minority point of view. Respect others at all times, especially when they have the courage to do the foregoing.
Continuous Feedback
Provide me, and your colleagues, with consistent feedback. I will insist that you provide me with at least one constructive piece of feedback per month. You won't hurt my feelings and tough feedback will improve - not hamper - our partnership. Promise.
Internal Customer Service
Treat your colleagues like clients. This applies from the C-suite to our most junior colleagues.
Accountability
We're all on, or off, this bus together. Do not throw people under it. Be quick to admit mistakes - we all make them. Don't hide and don't blame others.
Leadership Mindset
Demonstrate calm optimistic leadership. Things will go well. Things will go badly. Visibly panicking when the latter occurs does no good.
