Wat Umong Meditation Schedule and Rules

Welcome to Wat Umong, a serene Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai, Thailand, offering meditation retreats. Below is the schedule and guidelines for participants.

Rules and Preparation

Preparation:

• Alarm clock /watch - watch alarm or a battery alarm clock to put in your room. There isn’t an official wake up call / bell, so to wake up you should have a way to do that on your own (without a phone if possible).
• Please wear clean clothes and pants (no shorts) and shirts.
• Please bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, towel, shaving cream, etc.
• Please bring a flashlight if you need it during the course of meditation.
• Show your passport or ID card to us all before you start here.
• Please bring your own mat, pillow, and blanket if you have any.

Registration:

• Registration is 8:30am, Instruction class is 9:30am.
• Please fill in an application form for a new meditator.
• Please inform us all before you leave the temple.

Rules and Responsibilities:

• You must completely observe the practice of meditation and mental health.
• You must have good physical and mental health.
• You must respect the practice of meditation.
• You must follow the instructions of the meditation teacher.
• You must be respectful to all teachers and supporters.
• Please do not bring any liquor, cigarettes, drugs, or electronic devices.
• Please do not make any noise or control your body and mind.
• Please obey all the rules and regulations of the temple.
• Please keep silent and calm with your mind.
• Please avoid any political or religious books or talks that are provided in the center.
• If you have any urgent problems, please inform the officer in the center.

Payment:

• 1 day = 250 Baht (food, facitlity, bedding sets)
• White clothing (buy) = 450 Baht
• White clothing (rent) = 250 Baht
