At HorizonAI Expo 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City I took real photos with cosplay attendees on the floor. Each set below is the same moment three ways:

  1. Before — original photo (input)
  2. After (image) — generative anime still via Grok Imagine
  3. After (video) — short motion output from the same run / pipeline

A note on respect, cosplay & generative AI

At HorizonAI Expo someone saw this page’s generative outputs and cautioned me to be careful not to offend the cosplay community, and to take copyright and creative credit seriously when using tools like Grok Imagine. That feedback is fair and worth writing down here.

Cosplay is skilled craft: design, construction, performance, and community identity. A real photo taken with someone on the floor is a shared moment. Turning that moment into anime-style AI media can feel fun and collaborative to the person holding the camera — and extractive or dismissive to people who built the look by hand, if we treat their work as free training data or imply that “AI did it better.” Intent and framing matter.

How I want to treat this gallery

  • Consent & credit — Prefer people who are comfortable being photographed and transformed; never present AI output as if it replaced their craft.
  • Label generative work — The “after” stills and videos here are Grok Imagine (and related pipeline) outputs, not hand-drawn animation.
  • No commercial free pass on protected IP — Avoid prompts that deliberately copy trademarked characters, studio styles, or celebrity likenesses for brand/monetized use. Training-data and right-of-publicity law is still evolving; “the AI made it” is not a blanket defense.
  • Prefer original characters & stories — The healthier use of gen AI entertainment is building new personas and worlds. A strong example is Neuro-sama: an original AI VTuber with her own personality and live experience, not a rip-off of someone else’s IP.
  • Personal experiments vs products — This page is a personal expo experiment (real photo → stylized after). Anything commercial or high-visibility deserves extra care, consent, and legal review.

I’m keeping the gallery online as a learning artifact — including this note — so the next person who sees “cool AI cosplay filters” also sees the community and IP side of the conversation. Thanks to the person at the expo who pushed that point.
