By Eric Partaker
OKRs (Objectives & Key Results)

- Key Result
- Key Result
Best when speed & focus matter.
V2MOM
- Vision: Where do you want to be & actions?
- Values: Which values will guide your decisions?
- Methods: What actions will you take to get there?
- Obstacles: What could block the way?
- Measures: How will you know when you’ve won?
Great for lining up teams under one clear plan.
EDGE Method
- E - Envision: Picture the finish line, e.g., “Write one sentence on what ‘done’ is. Example: ‘launch new website by July 1.’”
- D - Divide: Break big goal into steps, e.g., “List 4-8 weekly tasks that will get you there. Week 1: Draft pages | Week 2: Design mock-ups…”
- G - Guardrails: Set do’s & don’ts to stay on track, e.g., “Do: ‘Work on the site 90 min a day,’ ‘Don’t: ‘Add new features after May 15.’”
- E - Execute: Act, then check progress fast, e.g., “Friday: Mark what’s done, adjust next week’s list.”
FAST Framework
- F - Frequently Talked-About: Keep it top-of-mind, mention the goal in every stand-up
- A - Ambitious & Clear: One bold, plain sentence, e.g., “Add IM new users by Q4 2025”
- S - Specific Numbers: 1-3 hard metrics, track live on a simple dashboard
- T - Transparent: Everyone sees the score, share progress in a public channel
Best for quick-moving teams.
